On the Shoulders of Giants

A once towering god king, an embodiment of strength, frail and brought to its knees, torn apart and consumed, salvaged for parts. A living idea in its moment of death, trapped in time, trapped in its own myth, upon which we reside.

    1. Thanks :)! I was on a role with them for a while, still have a handful more I think, not sure how long it'll last.

  2. We've talked about this but I like the imagery that this conjures for me

    1. Ya I almost wondered if I should expand it a bit more, but then decided to just leave it as is, but ya we did go into more detail on the server.

  3. "Living idea in its moment of death" - is there any chance that this was written in conversation with Mesopotamian religion? I think that the mention of god-kings and myth primed me to read the quoted bit as a Tammuz ref. I wish this had gotten an expanded form but it's pretty effective as is, may have lost some of its punch if it was spun out. Great stuff, fam.

    1. I wasn't specifically thinking of any religion, but probably some of those concepts indirectly affected my thinking- basically any mythology that is cyclical in nature (as opposed to linear). We discussed it in a bit more depth on my server, and I appreciated a lot of the ideas that came up, but I wasn't up for synthesizing them into something that would fit in with what I had already written at the time, but I may come back to it down the line.
